Both units employ innovative 2D-Gradient technology, enabling optimization of both annealing and denaturation conditions simultaneously for more refined PCR results. Temperature control is highly precise, with a block range of 4°C to 99°C, a heated lid adjustable from 37°C to 110°C, and uniformity as tight as ±0.2°C to 0.3°C depending on cycling range. Gradient functionality covers 30°C spreads within a 30°C to 99°C temperature range, making it highly versatile for PCR optimization.

For data handling, the X50s provides ample onboard memory for up to 5,000 programs and 500 folders, ensuring quick access to established protocols. With interfaces for USB and Ethernet, labs can streamline program storage, software updates, and system networking. Despite its advanced capabilities, both the X50s and X50i maintain a compact design and quiet operation, making them well-suited for continuous use in busy lab environments.
