The Thermo Scientific Sorvall RC 6 Plus Refrigerated Centrifuge is a high-speed refrigerated floor centrifuge that achieves speeds up to 22,000 RPM, facilitating the separation of substances with different densities at controlled temperatures. It is equipped to process up to 4 liters of sample per run and features a high-frequency brushless motor that ensures rapid separations with reduced maintenance. Users can precisely set and display the gravitational force (g-force) for accurate separations and rely on the w2dt integrator to achieve reproducible results across different runs. The instrument includes a pre-cool function for efficient rotor cooling and supports a wide range of rotor types, from lightweight composite to robust aluminum, accommodating various sample sizes. With safety as a priority, the centrifuge has system interlocks to prevent operation if the chamber door is open or to halt a run if a malfunction is detected.
The refrigeration system uses an environmentally-friendly, CFC-free refrigerant, maintaining the desired temperatures effectively during operation. The design offers ease of use with a touch keyboard, bright LCD for at-a-glance monitoring, and customizable settings such as 9 acceleration and 10 deceleration rates. With 30 program memory slots, step-run functionality for flexible application, and real-time control for delayed starts or stops, the centrifuge optimizes workflow. Additional features include automatic RCF/RPM conversion and a user lockout function for secure access in shared lab environments. It is compatible with a range of labware, from small tubes to large bottles, ensuring seamless integration and long-term reliability for various research applications. We may have different adapters available depending on the rotor chosen with this centrifuge. If the selected rotor includes adapters that will not work for your application, please inquire. All of our equipment is in excellent condition and will be fully tested to perform at factory specifications before being shipped.
Please confirm the selected rotor meets your application needs and request a different rotor, if necessary. Available rotors can be found in our Rotor Compatibility Guide.
