The MP Biomedicals FastPrep-24 Sample Preparation System is a state-of-the-art high-speed benchtop homogenizer designed for the efficient lysis of biological samples, making it an indispensable tool for researchers needing genomic DNA, total RNA, or recombinant protein. Capable of homogenizing up to 24 samples simultaneously within just 40 seconds, the system operates with a speed range from 4 to 6.5 m/s, adjustable in 0.5 m/s increments, and can accommodate up to 24 x 2ml tubes. The unit is controlled via a microprocessor panel featuring an LCD screen, providing settings from 1 to 60 seconds with acceleration and deceleration times of less than 2 seconds to reach or stop from maximum speed. Its duty cycle allows for operation at maximum speed for 60 seconds, followed by a 60-second rest period.

The FastPrep-24 utilizes a unique and optimized multidirectional motion that disrupts cells by the simultaneous beating of specialized Lysing Matrix beads on the sample material. This system excels in processing difficult and resistant samples, ensuring thorough and rapid lysis to yield stable RNA, active proteins, and full-length genomic DNA. The ergonomic design facilitates easy loading and secure sealing of sample tubes during processing.

Additionally, the FastPrep-24 includes self-contained disposable pans that are chemically resistant, simplifying cleaning and minimizing contamination risk. The Lysing Matrices (not included), critical for the system’s performance, are produced under stringent conditions to ensure high quality and are available separately for customization with unique buffers or as part of complete purification kits.
