GE AKTA A-905 Autosampler

The GE AKTA A-905 Autosampler is a highly advanced automated sampling injector designed specifically for use with AKTA liquid chromatography systems. This versatile instrument supports sample injection volumes ranging from 1 ul to 1 ml, accommodating a variety of research requirements. It is renowned for its biocompatibility and the ability to handle different sizes of sample vials, including direct filling or 96 micro vials when using 96-well microplates, and direct filling or 384 micro vials when using 384-well microplates, as well as a 48-vial adapter (not included). Moreover, the A-905 features an innovative cooling system for the sample vials, utilizing a Peltier element and a fan to maintain optimal temperatures, thus preserving sample integrity. Controlled via a PC running UNICORN version 4.12 or higher, the A-905 cannot operate as a stand-alone module and allows for both automatic and manual operation through pre-made methods or direct instructions. It offers three distinct injection methods: ul pick-up for zero sample loss, flushed loop for excellent reproducibility with minimal sample loss, and partial loopfill for low sample loss with programmable injection volumes. This flexibility ensures precise sample handling for a broad range of experimental designs.

The device boasts a two-position, six-port valve for efficient sample injection, which, along with adjustable syringe speeds and a buffer tubing system, minimizes cross-contamination and ensures the reproducibility of injections. Reproducibility is further evidenced by its RSD values, which are ≤ 0.3% for flushed loop injections, ≤ 0.5% for partial loopfill injections under certain conditions, and ≤ 1.0% for µl pick-up injections with volumes greater than 5 ul. The A-905 Autosampler is equipped with a 1000 µl dispenser syringe, an internal wash solvent bottle of 100 ml for effective needle and tubing cleaning, and features such as missing plate detection and built-in headspace pressure regulation. With its electrically quick switching time for the injection valve and precise piercing needle, the A-905 stands out for its efficiency and accuracy in automated sample injection, making it an invaluable tool in the field of liquid chromatography.
