The BioTek ELx808 is an eight-channel, absorbance microplate reader-assay system that can measure the optical density of solutions in 96-well microplates between 340 nm and 900 nm. This unit operates using a filter based wavelength selection system, with 340, 405, 450, 490, and 630 nm filters included standard. The ELx808 features superior optical specifications, with an extended dynamic range of up to 4.000 OD. This microplate reader also features an onboard processor, 2 x 24 character LED screen, and membrane keys to allow for easy definition and management of assay protocols, templates, formulas, and data. Through the control of the included Gen5 Data Analysis Software however, the ELx808 becomes an efficient, easy to use and powerful system for a variety of microplate based applications.
The ELx808 Microplate Reader is capable of conducting read endpoint (regular), kinetic, as well as linear scan read modes. The ELx808 is also equipped a unique 4-Zone Temperature Control system, allowing for control from up to 50°C that provides excellent stability for temperature sensitive assays and long-term bacteria/yeast growth studies. An internal microplate shaker is also featured on this unit, which allows for selection between low, medium, high, and variable speeds which are all programmable by the user. Please Note: This is the IU model of the Elx808 Microplate Readers, which features the incubation to 50°C and 340 to 900 nm wavelength range. This Microplate Reader is only configured for measuring/detecting Uv-Vis (Absorbance).
