The Beckman Coulter Vi-CELL XR Cell Viability Analyzer is a video imaging system for analyzing yeast, insect and mammalian cells in culture media or in suspension. This analyzer provides an automatic and cost-effective method for performing the trypan blue dye staining procedure to analyze a wide variety of cell types, a crucial step in the decision making process for basic tissue culture cell passage and for maintaining optimum culture conditions in bioreactors. Determining cell concentration and viability accurately and precisely is a requirement in R&D for biopharmaceuticals, and the Vi-CELL XR automates this process and eliminates variability inherent in manual sample preparation and counting. The Vi-CELL XR is able to automatically perform the trypan blue procedure with video imaging of the flow-through cell, obtaining results in just minutes. Following the automation of the trypan blue procedure, the Beckman Coulter Vi-CELL XR also provides for viability percentage, total cell concentration, total viable cell concentration, mean cell size, real time cellular images, bioprocess monitoring, and much more. With a 12-position autosampler integrated, the Vi-CELL XR even allows for walk-away sample analysis. The included Vi-CELL software offers pre-programmed and customizable analysis options for consistent and accurate analysis of simple cell systems or a user's own cell line. This software also features the "cell type function" enabling users to optimize the unit for many different cell species. This function takes cell clumping, circularity, brightness, diameter, and several other parameters into account. All of our equipment is in excellent condition and will be fully tested to perform at factory specifications before being shipped.
