The Applied Biosystems QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System is a high-throughput, versatile platform designed to meet diverse laboratory needs in gene expression, genotyping, and various PCR applications. This system offers unmatched scalability and efficiency, capable of processing up to four 3,072-reaction OpenArray plates in approximately four hours, producing up to 110,000 data points within an eight-hour workday when paired with the QuantStudio 12K Flex OpenArray AccuFill System. With just 20 minutes of hands-on time per run, it maximizes productivity while minimizing labor.
Engineered for flexibility, the QuantStudio 12K Flex features five interchangeable block formats - OpenArray plate, TaqMan Array Card, 384-well, and both 0.1 mL and 0.2 mL 96-well blocks - allowing seamless transitions between workflows without the need for tools. The instrument supports high-throughput environments with laboratory information management system (LIMS) compatibility and built-in features that facilitate 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, including integrated sample tracking, security, auditing, and electronic signature (SAE) modules for enhanced data integrity and quality control.
Advanced OptiFlex technology with six independent excitation and emission filter channels enables superior fluorescence detection and multiplexing, supporting up to six targets per reaction. This adaptability makes the system ideal for applications such as drug discovery, pharmacogenomics research, microRNA profiling, agricultural molecular testing, CFTR mutation analysis, and vaginal microbiota studies. The QuantStudio 12K Flex system is automation-compatible, integrating seamlessly with the Thermo Scientific Orbitor RS2 Microplate Mover to streamline workflows and reduce manual handling. It also supports digital PCR with QuantStudio digital PCR kits and DigitalSuite Software, enabling precise detection of rare targets, including cancer mutations and viruses.
Built for speed and accuracy, the system offers a maximum block ramp rate of 3.0°C/second, well-to-well temperature variability of ± 0.25°C, and demonstrated sensitivity down to a single copy. The enhanced OptiFlex system utilizes a white LED excitation source and decoupled detection channels for high-resolution results with dynamic range spanning nine logarithmic units and singleplex resolution as low as a 1.5-fold change. Designed for both current and future research demands, the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System delivers unparalleled throughput, flexibility, and precision - empowering laboratories to expand the boundaries of their research with confidence.
