Amersham Biosciences AKTA FPLC Explorer 100 System
The Amersham Biosciences AKTA Explorer 100 FPLC System is in excellent condition and has passed all tests for full functionality. These tests included: linking the unit to the Unicorn 5.31 operating system, testing flow rate accuracy of P-900 Pump, testing operation of pressure sensor in P-900 and P-950, leak-testing P-900 and P-950, testing UV-900 Monitor with Nal test solution, testing pH/C-900 for functional communication with pH probe and Conductivity Cell, testing functionality of the 925 Sensor, testing motor valves, and testing the Frac-950 for functionality through manual commands. Configured setup for detection is UV Absorbance, pH, and Conductivity. Fraction collection is through the Frac-950.

- Replace UV lamp and perform internal inspection tests to confirm complete functionality
- Install a new pH probe and verify the conductivity cell for accurate readings
- Calculate and adjust delay volume in software to reflect system configuration
- Clean or replace the drop sensor, accumulator wash, and height adjuster for consistent collection performance
- Verify fraction collector alignment and calibration with 15mL, 50mL, and microplate receptacles to ensure accuracy
- Run installation tests and thoroughly document all findings for comprehensive record-keeping
