Agilent G6230A TOF-Mass Spectrometer JetStream ESI Source w/ 1260 UPLC System
The Agilent G6230A Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer system provides accurate mass measurement with high mass resolution for confident compound identification beyond HPLC detection. The Agilent TOF is an orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight mass spectrometer (oa-TOF). The ions reaching the time-of-flight chamber are impelled in a direction perpendicular to their original path, meaning that the acceleration pulse applied to send the ions down the flight tube is orthogonal to the direction that ions are entering the mass analyzer. This geometry minimizes the effect of the entrance velocity on the flight time, leading to higher resolution. This TOF-MS system provides full-spectrum data for screening, profiling, and identification of small molecules, large biologic compounds, and everything in between making the 6230 ideal for applications like drug development, toxicology, and the analysis of intact proteins.
The Agilent G6230A Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer can be set up with the Agilent 1200, 1260, 1260 Infinity II, 1290 Infinity, or 1290 Infinity II UPLC modules and with one of serval ion interfaces. This specific configuration for the G2630A TOF-MS adds on the Agilent 1260 UPLC module, along with utilizing the Agilent JetStream ESI ion source. The AJS ESI source uses a super-heated sheath gas to collimate the nebulizer spray which dramatically increases the number of ions that enter the mass spectrometer. The Agilent G6230A TOF-MS also allows for the user to choose between 3 unique acquisition modes: 1GHz Extended Mass Range Mode: which allows for an extended mass range up to 20,000 m/z, 2Ghz Extended Dynamic Range Mode: which features up to 5 orders of magnitude and a scan range of 25 to 3,200 m/z, and 4Ghz High Resolution Mode: which features high resolution scanning at 2,721 m/z.
The Agilent G6230A TOF-MS can be controlled from the Agilent MassHunter Workstation Software, which allows for programs to run in data acquisition, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, and the added-on BioConfirm, for an all-in-one software bundle.
This Agilent system is in excellent condition and will be fully tested to perform at factory
specifications before being shipped.

- Pressure Test: The pressure test is a quick, built-in test designed to demonstrate the pressure tightness (up to 400 bar) of the system.
- Leak Test: The leak test is a built-in troubleshooting designed to demonstrate the leak-tightness of the pump.
- Thermostat Test: Evaluates the cooling and heating performance of the two Peltier elements.
- Injector Steps: Performs each movement of the sampling sequence under manual control. This is useful for confirming autosampler functionality.
