Agilent 6140A Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer w/ 1200 UPLC

The Agilent 6140A Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer w/ 1200 UPLC delivers unmatched analytical performance and proven day-after-day reliability from routine QC to research applications. This 6140A model brings maximum performance plus ultra-fast scanning for fast chromatography and high-throughput applications. This system allows users to rapidly screen compounds and confirm molecular weights, purify target compounds in complex mixtures, quantitate target compounds, positively identify impurities and more. The Agilent 6140A Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer provides unmatched sensitivity, simplifying sample preparation and LC method development. An ultrafast scan speed allows users to take full advantage of UPLC separations, as well as featuring ultrafast ion polarity switching to return maximum information from a single injection, even with narrow LC peaks. The Agilent 6140A Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer w/ 1200 UPLC can be fully controlled from the included Agilent ChemStation Workstation Software, which allows for user-friendly operation in data acquisition, analysis, instrument control, automation, and more.

Additional high-performance design features of the Agilent 6140A Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer include:
  • Orthogonal pneumatic nebulizer design allows for a wide range of LC conditions by helping to reduce chemical noise.
  • High-capacity solvent drying system – reduces chemical noise and permits the analysis of thermally-sensitive compounds through user control of gas flow rate and gas temperature.
  • Dielectric platinum-plated capillary – enhances sensitivity, permits independent optimization of the spray chamber and ion optics, and allows dynamic optimization of in-source fragmentation.
  • Fraction collection capability – can monitor and trigger the collection of fractions based on mass, analog signal input, or time. For mass-based determination, up to 16 m/z values can be monitored. Requires optional I/O Accessory Module.

This turnkey Agilent UPLC-MS system was recertified and calibrated by a factory trained engineer and is ready to ship on demand. This system comes with everything needed for easy installation and setup. All of our equipment is fully tested to perform at factory specifications before being shipped.

Below is a List of Diagnostic Tests Performed On This System
G1315C Diode Array Detector Diagnostic Tests:
  • Filter Test: The test moves the filter into the light path and measures the relative absorbance in the filter position.
  • Dark Current Test: The test measures the dark current from the detector optic.
  • Holmium Oxide Test: The test measures the Holmium spectrum from the built-in Holmium filter. The spectrum is evaluated for peaks at different wavelengths.
  • Lamp Intensity Test: The test verifies functionality of the UV lamp at various wavelengths.
  • Wavelength Intensity Test: The test confirms the accuracy of wavelengths measured.
  • Baseline Noise Test: The test measures the amount of baseline noise drift identified by the detector.
G1312B Binary Pump Diagnostic Tests:
  • Pressure Test: The pressure test is a quick, built-in test designed to demonstrate the pressure tightness (up to 400 bar) of the system.
  • Leak Test: The leak test is a built-in troubleshooting designed to demonstrate the leak-tightness of the pump.
G1316A Column Compartment Diagnostic Tests:
  • Thermostat Test: Evaluates the cooling and heating performance of the two Peltier elements.
G1367C HiP Wellplate Autosampler Diagnostic Tests:
  • Injector Steps: Performs each movement of the sampling sequence under manual control. This is useful for confirming autosampler functionality.
System Tests:
  • 4 Peak Test (Isocratic Standard): Standard test published by Agilent to confirm complete functionality of the 1200 UPLC System.
