The Agilent 1260 Infinity I HPLC System w/ VWD & FLD offers
the most flexibility for solvent selection and automation in HPLC method development, research and all HPLC applications requiring continuous access to a wide range of solvent choices. This system is ideally suited for multi-method, high-throughput workflows and offers convenient access to two solvents for isocratic or gradient analysis, for rapid method development and speeding up preparation of mobile phases and flushing the HPLC system.
The Agilent 1260 Infinity HPLC System's binary pump is comprises two identical pumps integrated into one housing. Binary gradients are created by high-pressure mixing. Typical applications are high throughput methods with fast gradients on high resolution 2.1 mm columns. The pump is capable of delivering flow in the range of 0.1 - 5 mL/min against up to 600 bar. Degassing of the solvents is done with the High Performance Degasser, which comprises four separate vacuum chambers with semipermeable tubings, a vacuum pump, and control assembly. The 1260 Infinity Autosampler is designed to offer the well-established flow-through design with variable volume injection and to achieve extremely low carryover, providing increased analysis speed with sensitivity, resolution, and precision. Paired with the autosampler is a thermostatted column compartment and ALS thermostat to serve as a temperature management system providing heating and cooling in order to meet extreme requirements of retention time reproducibility. The featured Variable Wavelength Detector (VWD) is designed for the highest optical UV performance, GLP compliance, and easy maintenance. The VWD features a deuterium lamp for the highest intensity and lowest detection limit over a wavelength range of 190 to 600 nm. This detector also features a dual-wavelength mode to acquire even more sample information, along with time-programmable wavelength switching to provide optimum sensitivity and selectivity for your applications. The featured Fluorescence Detector (FLD) brings high-sensitivity and selection through simultaneous multi-wavelength detection. This easy-to-use detector provides quantitative data and fluorescence spectra from a single run. Some of the features of the FLD Detector include; a flash lamp for highest intensity and lowest detection limit, multi-wavelength mode for on-line spectra, spectra acquisition and simultaneous multi-signal detection, easy front access to the flow cell for fast replacement, and built-in wavelength accuracy verification. Users may also use an optional cuvette for off-line measurements.
The Agilent 1260 Infinity I HPLC System w/ VWD & FLD can be fully controlled from the included Agilent ChemStation Workstation Software, which allows for user-friendly operation in data acquisition, analysis, instrument control, automation, and more.
This Agilent system is in excellent condition and will be fully tested to perform at factory
specifications before being shipped.

Below is a List of Diagnostic Tests Performed On This System
- Filter Test: The test moves the filter into the light path and measures the relative absorbance in the filter position.
- Dark Current Test: The test measures the dark current from the detector optic.
- Holmium Oxide Test: The test measures the Holmium spectrum from the built-in Holmium filter. The spectrum is evaluated for peaks at different wavelengths.
- Lamp Intensity Test: The test verifies functionality of the UV lamp at various wavelengths.
- Wavelength Intensity Test: The test confirms the accuracy of wavelengths measured.
- Baseline Noise Test: The test measures the amount of baseline noise drift identified by the detector.
- Pressure Test: The pressure test is a quick, built-in test designed to demonstrate the pressure tightness (up to 400 bar) of the system.
- Leak Test: The leak test is a built-in troubleshooting designed to demonstrate the leak-tightness of the pump.
- Thermostat Test: Evaluates the cooling and heating performance of the two Peltier elements.
- Injector Steps: Performs each movement of the sampling sequence under manual control. This is useful for confirming autosampler functionality.
- 4 Peak Test (Isocratic Standard): Standard test published by Agilent to confirm complete functionality of the 1260 Infinity HPLC System.
